The 2024–2025 All-NBA First Team has been announced, as voted by a 100-member global media panel. Although Houston Rockets' Turkish star Alperen Sengun didn’t make the final list of 15 players selected across the three All-NBA teams, he received the highest number of votes among those who missed out.
According to the NBA’s official announcement, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Oklahoma City Thunder guard and MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum were named to the All-NBA First Team.
Gilgeous-Alexander, Antetokounmpo, Jokic, and Tatum each received the maximum 500 points from the panel. Mitchell, the only player on the First Team without a perfect score, earned 414 points.
Sengun, who had an impressive season with the Rockets, received 58 points, just 10 short of James Harden, who clinched the final spot on the All-NBA Third Team with 68 points. Harden’s selection placed him 15th overall, while Sengun ranked 16th—making him the highest-voted player not selected for an All-NBA Team.
Despite the narrow miss, Sengun’s strong performance throughout the season underscores his rising status in the league and signals that a future All-NBA selection may not be far off.
