EuroLeague side Anadolu Efes has named a Serbian coach as its new head coach on a three-year contract, the club confirmed Tuesday.

Kokoskov, 52, joins the Türkiye-based club after completing the 2024–25 NBA season as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks, working under long-time associate Quin Snyder.

A veteran of international , Kokoskov previously coached the national teams of Georgia, Serbia, and Slovenia. He led Slovenia to its first-ever EuroBasket title in 2017, in a tournament hosted in Türkiye.

Kokoskov holds extensive NBA experience, having served as an assistant coach for 19 seasons across multiple franchises.

In 2018, he became the first European head coach in NBA history when he was appointed by the Phoenix Suns for the 2018–19 campaign.

Notably, he was the first full-time European assistant coach in NCAA Division I history, and in 2004, he became the first foreign-born assistant to win an NBA championship—with the Detroit Pistons.

Kokoskov previously managed Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce during the 2020–21 season, leading the team through both domestic competition and the EuroLeague.

He will now take over a reshaped Anadolu Efes squad looking to return to playoff contention in Europe after a disappointing 2024–25 campaign.
