Red Bull athlete Arda Saatci completed a 600-kilometer ultramarathon challenge in the United States, running from California’s Death Valley National Park to Santa Monica Pier in 123 hours, 21 minutes and 10 seconds.
Starting from the Badwater Basin in the Death Valley National Park, Saatci pushed through an extreme endurance test that stretched across California and ended at the Santa Monica Pier, where thousands of sports fans gathered to welcome him at the finish line.
Saatci’s ultramarathon route began at Badwater Basin, a location inside Death Valley National Park in the U.S. state of California, before continuing toward the Pacific coast at Santa Monica Pier.
The challenge, which was also followed online, took more than five days to complete. Organizers and supporters tracked Saatci’s progress throughout the run as he covered the distance under demanding conditions.
Former Türkiye international footballer Hamit Altintop welcomed Saatci at the finish line and presented him with a signed national team jersey from Kenan Yildiz.
Meanwhile, Türkiye's national football team captain Hakan Calhanoglu supported Saatci during the marathon through a video call.
After completing the marathon, Saatci said the large turnout at the finish line felt “truly incredible” and thanked both those who followed online and supporters who stood by him in person.
Reflecting on the challenge, he encouraged people to continue pursuing their goals even when things do not go perfectly, saying: “Do not compare yourself to others. What matters is creating your own path and moving forward on it.”
