An Argentine professional footballer was detained after shouting “Bomba! Bomba!” during boarding procedures, triggering emergency security protocols and forcing the evacuation of an aircraft, with his club now moving to terminate his contract.

Panic unfolds during boarding as security protocols take over

The incident took place on Sunday as passengers were boarding a flight bound for Buenos Aires. Emiliano Endrizzi, who plays for Gimnasia de Jujuy in Argentina, caused panic after shouting “Bomba! Bomba!” inside the aircraft.

Authorities immediately activated anti-terror protocols, a standard set of emergency procedures used worldwide when a potential security threat is identified on an aircraft.

As a result, the plane was urgently evacuated, and bomb disposal teams were called in to carry out a detailed inspection.

No explosives found, but consequences escalate

Following thorough checks, officials confirmed that no explosive device was found on board. However, despite the absence of an actual threat, the situation was treated with full seriousness due to the nature of the claim and the risk it posed to passenger safety.

Endrizzi was taken into custody by police at the scene, reportedly restrained with reverse handcuffs, a method used by law enforcement to secure individuals during detention.

Club moves to terminate contract over misconduct

In the aftermath of the incident, Gimnasia de Jujuy strongly condemned the player’s actions. The club announced that it would move to terminate his contract on the grounds of serious misconduct.

Club officials stressed that the irresponsible behavior had damaged the institution’s reputation, while also indicating that the incident could leave a lasting mark on the player’s professional career.
