Istanbul Basaksehir secured a 3-1 win over Norway’s Viking FK in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round on Thursday.
After trailing early, Basaksehir equalized in the 60th minute when Omer Ali Sahiner led a counterattack and fed Deniz Turuc, who cut inside from the right and curled a precise shot into the net.
In the 79th minute, Umut Gunes set up Fode Doucoure Operi, who fired in from the edge of the area to put the visitors ahead.
Basaksehir sealed the win deep into stoppage time. Operi launched a long ball from his own half to Davie Selke, who outran the defense, rounded goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson, and finished from a tight angle in the 90+4th minute.
