Besiktas has widened its search for a new head coach, with Bruno Genesio and Ange Postecoglou emerging as the latest names on the club’s list after the departure of Sergen Yalcin.

The Istanbul club, one of Türkiye’s major football teams, has been working through several options as it looks to settle on a new technical director. According to Milliyet, Besiktas had already made contact with Oliver Glasner, Dino Topmoller and Razvan Lucescu before expanding the list further.

Coaching search gathers pace after Sergen Yalcin exit

Besiktas moved into a new phase in its coaching search after parting ways with Sergen Yalcin. The black-and-whites are now assessing several foreign candidates as the club tries to shape the team’s next period from the bench.

Ernesto Valverde and Filipe Luis were previously mentioned among the possible names, while Genesio and Postecoglou have now also been added to the group of candidates being evaluated.

Genesio, the 59-year-old French coach, had also been on Besiktas’ agenda at the start of the season. Club president Serdal Adali reportedly wanted to bring him in at that time, but the coach stayed with Lille.

With Genesio’s contract at Lille coming to an end, his name has once again come up as Besiktas continues to look around for a new manager.
