Besiktas has officially confirmed that they are in talks to sign English striker Tammy Abraham from AS Roma. The Istanbul-based club shared the announcement on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), which is a legal requirement for publicly listed companies in Türkiye.
In the statement, Besiktas informed the Istanbul exchange that negotiations had begun with both Abraham and Roma regarding the transfer. Abraham’s full name, Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, was included in the formal filing.
Shortly after confirming the negotiations, Besiktas revealed on its official social media accounts that Abraham was en route to Türkiye. Accompanied by a black eagle emoji—a symbol of the club—the post simply read “He’s coming!” in Turkish.
In a message sent from the plane, Abraham addressed Besiktas supporters directly: “Hello Black Eagles. I’m coming for you.” He is expected to land at Atatürk Airport’s General Aviation Terminal at 6:00 p.m. local time.
The 27-year-old forward is set to become Besiktas’ second signing ahead of the upcoming season. The club had earlier completed the transfer of Czech left-back David Jurasek, who joined from Benfica.
Abraham’s arrival is seen as a major reinforcement to Besiktas' attacking line as they prepare for the new Süper Lig campaign and potential European competition.
Tammy Abraham began his professional career with Chelsea, having risen through the club’s youth system. He later gained experience on loan at several English clubs, including Swansea City, Bristol City, and Aston Villa.
In 2021, he made a permanent move to AS Roma in Italy, signing for a reported transfer fee of €41 million (approximately $48.4 million). Most recently, he spent a season on loan at AC Milan before returning to his parent club.
Throughout his professional career, Abraham has made 430 appearances, scoring 172 goals and registering 51 assists across all competitions.
