Besiktas, who finished 4th in the Super Lig with 62 points last season, is set to undergo significant squad reshuffling ahead of the 2025-2026 campaign, sources close to the club said Thursday.
Following a report by Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the club plans to part ways with multiple players as it aims to strengthen the team for both domestic and European competitions.
Key points from the club’s plan include:
- Departure of 10 players, including six foreign nationals and four domestic players.
- The contract of left-back Arthur Masuaku, who turns 31, will not be renewed after May 31.
- Foreign players Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andre Onana, Bahtiyar Zaynutdinov, Ciro Immobile, and El-Musrati are also set to leave. Interest from Italy, Russia, and the Arabian Peninsula has been reported for some.
- Four players returning from loan—Can Keles, Emrecan Uzunhan, Tayyip Talha, and Elan Ricardo—are expected to be loaned out again for the new season.
- Besiktas will start their 2025-2026 season on June 28, with the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round first leg scheduled for July 24.
The club’s management and coaching staff aim to finalize the squad changes in the coming weeks as they prepare for a challenging season.
