Besiktas has announced that it has initiated formal discussions with Italian manager Vincenzo Italiano regarding the head coach position for the club’s football team.
In an official statement submitted to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the club stated, "Our company has started talks with Vincenzo Italiano for the role of head coach of our football A team.”
According to club sources, Italiano will arrive in Istanbul today.
Vincenzo Italiano began his managerial career in Italy with Vigontina before going on to coach Arzignano, Trapani, Spezia, Fiorentina and Bologna.
Across these teams, the 48-year-old manager has overseen a total of 466 matches, recording 211 wins, 117 draws and 138 losses.
During his time at Fiorentina, Italiano reached the UEFA Europa Conference League final in two consecutive seasons. He later continued at Bologna, where he won the Coppa Italia in the 2024/25 season and managed the team in both domestic and European competitions before leaving the club.
