Besiktas has entered discussions to sign Inter Milan forward Mehdi Taremi, with sources confirming that the Iranian striker is eager to join the Istanbul side.
Taremi’s agent has reportedly reached out to several clubs in Türkiye, with Besiktas responding positively.
The 32-year-old joined Inter on a free transfer from Porto in the summer of 2024 and is under contract until 2027.
He is valued at around €3.5 million ($4.06 million). Despite a quiet window so far, Besiktas are aiming to build a competitive squad under newly appointed head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer is currently analyzing Taremi’s recent performance data and is expected to give his final decision in the coming days. Should he approve, Besiktas is ready to accelerate talks with Inter to finalize the deal.
Taremi played in 43 matches across all competitions for Inter last season, scoring three goals and providing nine assists.
His versatility and experience are seen as key assets for the club’s rebuilding process.
Taremi was unable to travel to the United States for Inter’s FIFA Club World Cup preparations due to Iran’s airspace being closed following Israeli airstrikes on June 13.
After featuring in Iran’s World Cup qualifiers earlier this month, the forward was stranded in his home country as authorities suspended international flights for security reasons.
