Besiktas has turned to Romelu Lukaku in their search for a new striker, according to reports in Turkish media, after the club received a positive assessment of the Belgian forward's medical reports.
The Istanbul club, which recently announced the signings of Alexander Nubel and Dogan Alemdar, is now looking to strengthen its attack. Lukaku, who plays for Napoli in Italy's Serie A, has emerged as a candidate as Besiktas continues work on its forward transfer plans.
Besiktas had also been linked with Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract with Juventus had ended, but no deal has been completed so far.
Following those developments, the club reportedly added Lukaku to its transfer agenda.
The 33-year-old striker had a difficult spell at Napoli last season after a serious injury, playing only seven matches and scoring once.
Besiktas requested medical documents before moving ahead, and the club's medical board reportedly gave a positive response after reviewing them.
After receiving medical approval, Besiktas reportedly took its first formal steps and contacted Napoli. The Italian club is said to be asking for a €10 million ($11.42 million) transfer fee, while Besiktas aims to bring the deal down to around €5 million.
Negotiations are continuing, according to the report. Lukaku is currently with the Belgium national team at the 2026 World Cup, where he has scored three goals in five appearances.
