Besiktas has opened talks with Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze, as the Turkish side looks to bolster its squad following elimination from the UEFA Europa League.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, reported by Turkish media, the Nigerian international’s agent has arrived in Istanbul for negotiations with Besiktas officials.
The Istanbul club is keen to strengthen its flanks after back-to-back defeats to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League second qualifying round, which pushed them into the UEFA Conference League.
Besiktas has already made an initial bid to Milan, but the Italian side reportedly found the offer insufficient.
A second proposal may be submitted following talks with the player’s representative, though the probability of a deal remains uncertain at this stage.
Chukwueze, 26, joined Milan from Villarreal in 2023. Last season, he scored five goals and added three assists in 37 appearances across competitions. The winger, under contract with Milan until 2028, is capable of playing on both flanks.
