Besiktas has stepped up its pursuit of Premier League stars as the Türkiye club looks to strengthen its wings before the transfer window closes.
Club officials have entered formal talks with Chelsea over Raheem Sterling, while Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has also emerged as a realistic target.
According to reports, Besiktas has submitted a bid to sign Sterling on a permanent deal after Chelsea rejected an initial loan approach.
President Serdal Adali is personally overseeing negotiations, with Chelsea expected to set an asking price by Tuesday.
The club is said to have allocated between €8 million ($9,37 million) and €11 million for the England international and is close to agreeing terms on a two-plus-one-year contract.
Sterling, 30, is reportedly open to a move to Istanbul.
Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is pushing for the signing, citing Sterling’s versatility across the front line and stressing that his arrival could double the attacking output alongside striker Tammy Abraham.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho is widely expected to leave Old Trafford before the deadline.
Sky Sports reports that the 25-year-old winger has two primary options: Besiktas or a return to former club Borussia Dortmund.
Besiktas is determined to add at least one high-profile winger, while Dortmund remains keen on bringing Sancho back to the Bundesliga.
The Türkiye giants, under pressure from fans to deliver a marquee signing, appear ready to make a major splash in the market with one or both of the English stars.
