Besiktas has reportedly shifted its attention to Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa after putting its proposed move for Mohamed Salah on hold because of financial concerns.
The Istanbul club had been considering Salah as a potential addition to the right side of its attack. However, the financial demands surrounding the Egyptian forward have led Besiktas to shelve the transfer for the time being and look into more attainable alternatives.
According to a report by Türkiye daily, Liverpool's Italian international Chiesa has moved onto Besiktas' transfer agenda as the club steps up its search for a right winger.
Chiesa is reportedly unhappy with his limited playing time at Liverpool, which could open the door for a possible departure. Besiktas head coach Vincenzo Italiano is expected to personally step in and take part in efforts to bring the winger to Türkiye.
The Italian attacker made 36 appearances for Liverpool during the previous season but played only 726 minutes in total. He finished the campaign with three goals and three assists.
Besiktas is now expected to focus on Chiesa as the club seeks to strengthen the right side of its attack, although the report did not provide details regarding a possible transfer fee or contract.
