Turkish national golfer Deniz Sapmaz is set to represent Türkiye at the Jabra Ladies Open in France, becoming the first Turkish woman to compete internationally in a Ladies European Tour event.

The tournament, scheduled for May 28-30, 2026, is part of the Ladies European Tour calendar, one of the main professional golf circuits for women in Europe.

Sapmaz steps onto international stage

Sapmaz’s participation marks a milestone not only for her own career but also for Turkish golf, as it brings a national female player into one of Europe’s recognized professional platforms.

The Jabra Ladies Open brings together leading professional players from around the world, giving Sapmaz the opportunity to test herself against an international field.

Milestone expected to inspire young athletes

Her appearance is also expected to stand out as an example for younger athletes in Türkiye, showing that national players can move onto bigger international stages.

Sapmaz said the invitation had given her strong motivation and underlined her aim to build up her presence abroad.

“This invitation is a great source of motivation for me,” Sapmaz said. “I want to establish myself on the international stage and take my performance to the highest level. Representing Türkiye in the best way possible is my biggest goal, both as a national athlete and as a member of the Atasehir Golf Club.”
