Dinamo Zagreb recorded the biggest victory of the opening day in UEFA's third qualifying round, sweeping aside Kauno Zalgiris 5-0 as 11 first-leg fixtures were played across the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League on Tuesday.

While the Croatian side comfortably came out on top at home, several other Champions League contests remained closely fought, including a six-goal draw between Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and Bodo/Glimt.

Dinamo Zagreb took control of its home fixture against Lithuania's Kauno Zalgiris and wrapped up a convincing 5-0 victory.

Slovan Bratislava also made a strong start by overcoming Sweden's Mjallby 2-1 away from home, while Armenia's Ararat-Armenia edged past Slovenia's Celje by the same scoreline on home soil.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva and Levski Sofia both secured narrow home victories, with the Israeli side beating Crvena Zvezda 1-0 and the Bulgarian club seeing off Kazakhstan's FC Kairat by the same margin.

Sparta Praha came through another closely contested fixture, defeating Olympique Lyonnais 2-1 at home.

In Belgium, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and Norway's Bodo/Glimt traded goals in a 3-3 draw, while Dutch side Nijmegen held Olympiacos to a goalless result in Greece.

Northern Ireland's Larne and Georgia's Iberia, meanwhile, cancelled each other out in a goalless draw.
