The Philadelphia 76ers edged past the Houston Rockets 128-122 in an overtime game in the NBA, with Joel Embiid leading the way through a dominant all-around performance, while Turkish center Alperen Sengun played a notable supporting role for Houston.

Embiid and Maxey step up in decisive moments

Playing at Xfinity Mobile Arena, the 76ers relied on Joel Embiid, who finished with a triple-double, a term used in basketball to describe reaching double figures in three statistical categories. Embiid put up 32 points, collected 15 rebounds, and handed out 10 assists, setting the tone throughout the night. Tyrese Maxey followed up with 36 points and 10 assists, helping Philadelphia pull away in overtime after a tightly contested regulation period.

Kelly Oubre Jr. also chipped in with 26 points for the home side, while Turkish national team player Adem Bona wrapped up the game with limited minutes, contributing one point alongside three rebounds and one assist.

Sengun contributes in balanced Rockets effort

For the Rockets, Kevin Durant stood out with 36 points and seven rebounds, but the team fell short despite several players sharing the scoring load. Amen Thompson added 17 points, while Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., and Tari Eason each finished with 13 points.

Sengun, one of Türkiye’s most prominent NBA representatives, also supported Houston’s offense with his inside presence and passing awareness, although the Rockets were unable to contain Philadelphia’s key scorers in overtime.

Spurs handle Jazz despite historic Nurkic performance

Elsewhere in the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Utah Jazz 126-109 on the road. De’Aaron Fox led San Antonio with 31 points, while Victor Wembanyama delivered a strong double-double, scoring 26 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Keldon Johnson added further depth with 21 points.

Utah’s Jusuf Nurkic recorded a triple-double with 17 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds, becoming the first center since Pete Maravich in January 1975 to achieve back-to-back triple-doubles for the Jazz. Despite his effort, Utah could not keep pace, even with Ace Bailey and Keyonte George combining for a strong scoring display.
