Norwegian striker Erling Haaland praised Türkiye’s new national football team jersey as the countdown continues to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Manchester City forward made the remarks in a YouTube video published by football content creator John Nellis on June 10, where he reviewed national team kits ahead of the tournament.
Haaland said he was impressed by Türkiye’s new design and described the jersey as one of the stronger-looking kits he had seen.
His comments quickly drew attention among Turkish football fans and across the sports community, as one of world football’s most recognizable forwards singled out the Crescent-Stars’ new look before the tournament.
Türkiye will take part in the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a long absence from the tournament.
The national team will compete in Group D, where it will face the United States, Australia and Paraguay.
With its new jersey gaining international attention, Türkiye is preparing to return to the World Cup stage with a squad aiming to put in a strong group-stage performance.
