Istanbul sides Fenerbahce and Besiktas are among the clubs monitoring Cody Gakpo's situation at Liverpool after the Premier League powerhouse reportedly became willing to consider offers for the Dutch forward this summer, according to a media report.
The 27-year-old's future has come into focus amid concerns over his role under incoming head coach Andoni Iraola and the growing prominence of teenage winger Rio Ngumoha, as English media reported that Liverpool would consider substantial offers despite not actively seeking to sell the Dutch left winger.
Interest in Gakpo stretches across Europe, with Fenerbahce and Besiktas both alerted to his potential availability should Liverpool soften their stance on a transfer, TEAMtalk suggested. However, no concrete approach from either Turkish club was mentioned in the report, with any potential move likely to gather pace only after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have also reportedly been informed of developments, while AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are among the continental sides exploring the market. RB Leipzig has likewise been made aware of the situation.
Liverpool turned down an approach from Bayern Munich for Gakpo last summer, but interest in the Netherlands international has persisted, sources cited by the report indicated.
Gakpo joined Liverpool from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 in a deal worth up to €42 million ($48.4 million) after establishing himself as one of the Eredivisie's most productive attackers.
During the 2025-26 season, Gakpo made 52 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing six assists. According to Transfermarkt, the Dutch forward has a market value of €60 million, while his contract with Liverpool runs until 2030.
Fenerbahce is preparing for another major summer rebuild after extending its 13-year wait for a Super Lig title, with newly elected president Aziz Yildirim returning to power and expected to push for high-profile additions in the transfer market.
Besiktas, meanwhile, is continuing a squad overhaul under newly appointed Italian coach Vincenzo Italiano, who arrived in Istanbul this week to begin a new era at the club.
The Black Eagles are expected to remain active in the transfer market as they look to close the gap on domestic rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce following several inconsistent seasons.
