Fenerbahce have moved early to shape their squad for next season, deciding to hold on to Marco Asensio despite strong interest from several top European clubs following his standout campaign.

Early planning signals clear stance on key player

While the team remains focused on the title race on the pitch, club president Sadettin Saran and the board have already started to map out next season’s squad structure. At the center of those plans stands Asensio, whose performance has drawn attention across Europe.

The Spanish forward, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the season after prolonged negotiations, has quickly established himself as a central figure within the team setup.

Performance and leadership make him untouchable

Across all competitions, including the Super Lig, Europa League, Turkish Cup, and Super Cup, Asensio has featured in 36 matches, reaching double figures in both goals and assists with 13 each. These numbers, combined with his on-field leadership, have turned him into a key option for head coach Domenico Tedesco.

Fenerbahce officials have decided that the player will not be sold under any circumstances, reflecting both his statistical output and his growing influence within the squad, as well as strong support from the fan base.

Transfer strategy to be built around Asensio

During internal meetings, the club’s leadership also agreed that future signings will be shaped around Asensio’s playing style.

At the same time, the immediate priority remains the ongoing title race, with the board aiming to finish the season successfully before stepping up talks with players on their transfer shortlist.
