Fenerbahce has turned their attention to Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth as they seek to bolster their attack ahead of the new season. With key forwards Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic set to depart, the Istanbul giant is planning a major offer that could mark a new transfer record for the club.

After failed attempts to sign several targets—including free agent Jonathan David, who is now in talks with Juventus, and Aston Villa's Jhon Duran, whose price proved too steep—Fenerbahce have made Sorloth their primary focus.

The 28-year-old forward, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid, is reportedly open to a move. Fenerbahce officials, encouraged by initial signals through intermediaries, are preparing to sit down with the Spanish club for formal talks.

Spanish media claim Atletico are demanding at least 30 million euros ($35,12 million) for Sorloth. Fenerbahce, meanwhile, are expected to offer around 25 million euros ($29,26 million)—an amount that would eclipse the club’s current record fee paid for En-Nesyri.

Sorloth is no stranger to Türkiye. During the 2019–20 season, he played on loan at Trabzonspor and finished as Super Lig top scorer with 33 goals and 11 assists in 49 appearances.
