Italian side Juventus is weighing its next move on Canadian striker Jonathan David, with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray racing to position themselves ahead of the summer transfer window, local media reports.
The 26-year-old forward, who joined the Turin club on a free transfer last summer, has yet to make a strong impact in Serie A, falling short of expectations and leaving the club open to a potential sale once the season ends, reports suggest.
Despite arriving without a transfer fee, David’s deal carries significant financial weight. He earns around €6 million ($7 million) per year, rising to €8 million with bonuses, alongside a signing bonus exceeding €12 million. That structure complicates any exit strategy, according to Tutto Mercato.
Juventus has not reached a clear decision on his future, even as the club continues under a renewed contract with head coach Luciano Spalletti.
Fenerbahce has already moved to gather details about the striker’s situation, positioning itself as a serious option if Juventus opens the door to a transfer.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, has started to weigh up the player more closely. The club is keen to secure a high-profile attacking addition for next season, though its approach may depend on the future of Victor Osimhen. If the Nigerian striker remains, Galatasaray’s involvement could stay limited, it added.
David’s previous success at Lille had drawn attention from French clubs including Lyon and Marseille. However, his current salary is seen as a major obstacle, effectively ruling out a return to Ligue 1 for most teams.
Paris Saint-Germain is viewed as the only French side capable of meeting those financial terms, but no concrete move has emerged, the report said.
This season, David featured in 43 matches for Juventus, registering eight goals and five assists. His market value currently stands at around €35 million.
