Fenerbahce have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Rafael Leao by offering the Portuguese forward a four-year contract worth €12 million ($14 million) per season, plus performance-related bonuses.

Leao is widely expected to leave Milan, although his next destination remains uncertain. The player has recently been linked with both Fenerbahce and their domestic rival Galatasaray.

Italian report lays out Fenerbahce proposal

Italian outlet SportMediaset reported that Fenerbahce had put forward the four-year contract as part of their attempt to bring in the Milan star.

Under the reported terms, Leao would pick up €12 million annually before bonuses, while Fenerbahce would be prepared to pay Milan a €40 million transfer fee.

Potential deal would set new club record

Should the transfer go through for €40 million, Leao would become the most expensive signing in Fenerbahce's history.

The Portuguese international would move ahead of Greenwood, whom Fenerbahce previously signed for €39 million.
