Fenerbahce is reportedly preparing an offer to bring back national team defender Merih Demiral from Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli.
As the club aims to strengthen its squad with high-profile signings for the upcoming season, reinforcing the defense is a key priority. Among the targets is Merih Demiral, who previously played for Fenerbahce during his youth career.
According to the Turkish newspaper Takvim, the club’s management is eager to re-sign the 27-year-old center-back and plans to make an official offer to Al Ahli after the season ends.
Demiral, who joined Al Ahli in 2023, is said to be open to a return to European football. This season, he has made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists.
Valued at around 17 million euros ($19.32M), Demiral is known for his aerial dominance and strong defensive presence. His return would be a significant boost to Fenerbahce’s ambitions to win the Süper Lig title.
If the transfer succeeds, it will demonstrate Fenerbahce’s commitment to competing strongly both domestically and in Europe.
