Turkish football club Fenerbahce makes a significant addition to its roster by officially signing Olympic and world champion boxer Busenaz Surmeneli

On Friday, Fenerbahce Club made a major move by officially signing Busenaz Surmeneli, the Olympic and world champion boxer.

In a statement from the yellow-navy blue club, they welcomed the Olympic champion with the words, “Welcome to the world’s greatest sports club, Busenaz Surmeneli,” highlighting their commitment to investing in Turkish sports and athletes. 

The announcement highlighted Fenerbahce’s status as the club with the highest number of athletes representing them in the Olympics. It also celebrated its newest member, who clinched Türkiye’s inaugural and sole gold medal in boxing at the Olympics.

The 25-year-old athlete, set to compete in various arenas, including the Paris 2024 Olympics, received best wishes for success. 

Busenaz Surmeneli had previously announced her departure from Trabzonspor on Feb. 7.
