Real Madrid President Florentino Perez was among those who attended the funeral ceremony for Jesus de Miguel Alameda, a 30-year-old Spanish footballer, in the town of Navahermosa in the province of Toledo, Spain, on Nov. 5, 2026.
De Miguel, a forward for Tenerife, a club in Spain’s second division, died at 8 a.m. local time (8 a.m. GMT) on Nov. 3 in a hospital in Tenerife, a day after a collision with the goalkeeper during a match against Andorra.
Navahermosa is the hometown of his parents and the place where his grandparents live, and the funeral was held there at the wish of his family, with burial planned at the town’s municipal cemetery.
Tenerife said that its first-team squad, technical staff, and board would attend the ceremony in Navahermosa to say goodbye to the player.
De Miguel had played for Tenerife since the summer of 2025, and the club’s league match against Granada was postponed after his death.
Tenerife also organized a tribute in his memory at its home ground, Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez, on Saturday, Nov. 7, starting at 6 p.m. local time.
