A planned transfer to Turkish Super Lig club Kayserispor ended abruptly when defender Ronael Pierre-Gabriel left the city without completing the deal and stopped answering phone calls, according to Turkish journalist Faruk Aydemir.

The 27-year-old Croatian league player had traveled to Kayseri two days earlier to finalize his move from Dinamo Zagreb after the clubs reached a preliminary agreement. However, the transfer collapsed amid reported disputes over contract terms and the player's discovery of regulatory issues affecting the club.

Contract dispute derails agreement

According to an account close to Dinamo Zagreb, Kayserispor attempted to alter previously agreed-upon contract conditions after Pierre-Gabriel arrived in the city. The report stated that the transfer was canceled after "Kayserispor tried to change the contract terms that were decided earlier."

The player also learned that Kayserispor is currently under a registration ban preventing the club from signing new players, which may have further complicated the negotiations.

Kayserispor had invited Pierre-Gabriel to Kayseri as part of its efforts to strengthen the squad for the second half of the Super Lig season. Turkish clubs are currently active in the mid-season transfer window as they seek to improve their rosters.

The collapsed deal represents a setback for Kayserispor's transfer plans during a crucial period when clubs typically address weaknesses and compete for available players before the window closes.
