Galatasaray’s pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has gained momentum after reports from Italy claimed that Saudi club Al Hilal has stepped back from negotiations, boosting the Turkish champions’ chances.
According to the Türkiye daily, citing Italian media, Al Hilal submitted a €70 million offer for the Nigerian forward, but both Osimhen and Napoli reportedly turned it down.
With Al Hilal now retreating from the race and Juventus also withdrawing their interest, Galatasaray appears to be in a stronger position.
Reports indicate that Galatasaray has tabled the largest transfer bid in the club’s history in an attempt to secure the prolific striker.
Osimhen's recent social media post featuring the Super Lig trophy has further fueled speculation that he may be open to a future with Galatasaray.
Head coach Okan Buruk and Galatasaray board member Abdullah Kavukcu, currently in Italy for the Eid holiday, are expected to hold direct talks with Napoli to discuss the player's release clause and a possible payment structure.
Galatasaray is reportedly aiming to negotiate the €75 million release clause, hoping to find common ground with Napoli over both the total fee and financial terms.
Osimhen, 25, has been one of Europe's most sought-after forwards following his consistent performances in Serie A and the Champions League.
