Galatasaray has denied reports claiming they reached an agreement to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala, while German media said the 23-year-old is certain to remain with the Bundesliga club for the new season.
The Istanbul side stated reports in Türkiye suggested that negotiations had moved forward and that Musiala could join Galatasaray on a loan.
"Reports that our club has reached an agreement with Jamal Musiala and Bayern Munich are not true. We present this information to the public," Galatasaray said.
German broadcaster Sky Germany reported that Musiala will stay at Bayern Munich, pointing out that he is the club's highest-paid player and remains under contract until 2030.
The report added that Musiala has set major personal targets for the upcoming campaign, further playing down the possibility of a move away from Munich.
Musiala featured in 24 matches for Bayern during the previous season, finishing the campaign with five goals and six assists.
The transfer speculation also brought back comments Musiala made after Bayern Munich's 3-1 Champions League victory away to Galatasaray in 2023.
"There was a great atmosphere here, and I really enjoyed playing in front of these supporters. I will remember this match for a long time because of the atmosphere," Musiala said after the game.
His remarks were widely shared again on social media after the reports linking him with the Turkish champions emerged.
Musiala's market value is currently listed at €100 million, while his existing Bayern Munich contract runs through 2030.
