Galatasaray has reached a full agreement with Napoli for the transfer of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, with the deal including multiple confidential clauses—one of which may trigger a €30 million ($35,24 million) penalty if breached, according to Türkiye Daily.
According to Turkish media reports, the €75 million transfer, with €5 million in additional bonuses, was finalized after intense negotiations between the two clubs. Galatasaray has signed the official contract and sent it to Italy. Napoli is expected to approve and countersign the agreement within 24 hours, after which the Turkish club will announce the deal.
One of the most significant details concerns a clause prohibiting Osimhen from returning to Serie A within the next two years. Should the player transfer to any Italian team before 2027, Galatasaray would be obligated to pay €30 million in compensation to Napoli.
Galatasaray will pay €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million split into two installments, and an additional €5 million tied to performance-based bonuses.
Another clause outlines that if Osimhen is sold within the first two years, Napoli will receive 10% of the resale fee. If the sale occurs after this period, no compensation will be owed to the Italian club.
Italian sports media described this as a “strategic victory” for Napoli, especially given Osimhen's previous valuation exceeding €100 million.
Galatasaray reportedly reached a personal agreement with the striker on July 5, but the club faced resistance from Napoli, particularly from club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who was cautious about the payment terms and future clauses.
The length of negotiations was attributed to Napoli’s insistence on limiting payment installments, securing a resale percentage, and imposing the Serie A ban clause.
