Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is expected to return to action against Kasimpasa on Oct. 9 after spending several weeks on the sidelines with an injury, according to a report by Fotomac.
The Nigerian forward picked up the injury during Galatasaray's match against Basaksehir on Sept. 4 and subsequently missed three games, including two domestic fixtures and the club's opening UEFA Champions League match.
Osimhen was unavailable for Galatasaray's Turkish Super Lig matches against Kocaelispor and Trabzonspor, while he also sat out the 3-1 Champions League defeat away to Sporting.
Galatasaray scored only two goals across the three matches played without the 27-year-old striker, recording one victory while losing to Trabzonspor and Sporting.
Osimhen has featured in four matches for Galatasaray this season, contributing six goals and two assists.
The Nigerian international traveled to his home country during the international break after receiving special permission from head coach Okan Buruk.
Osimhen also asked to be left out of the Nigeria national team squad because of his injury, allowing him to continue his recovery while supporting the team from his country.
Before leaving Türkiye, the striker met Galatasaray's medical staff and was given a rehabilitation and treatment program that he is continuing to follow while abroad.
The report said Osimhen intends to return in the healthiest possible condition, with his recovery now expected to put him in position to feature against Kasimpasa on Oct. 9.
Galatasaray also thanked the Nigerian Football Federation for leaving Osimhen out of the national squad during his recovery period.
