Goztepe has signed 21-year-old English midfielder Alex Matos on a season-long loan from Sheffield United.
The Izmir-based club, which competes in the Trendyol Super Lig, Türkiye's top football division, announced that the agreement for the 2026–2027 campaign includes a purchase option for the former Chelsea academy graduate.
In an official statement, Goztepe welcomed Matos, highlighting his versatility as an attacking player developed within Chelsea FC’s youth system.
The move adds to Goztepe's transfer activity ahead of the new season, as the club had already signed Brazilian forward Andre Henrique and Irish forward Sinclair Armstrong.
With Matos joining on loan, Goztepe have brought in another young attacking player as they continue to build up their squad for the 2026-2027 campaign.
The club did not provide further details on the financial terms of the agreement.
