Italy has formally submitted a list of 13 candidate cities and 14 stadiums to UEFA for the 2032 European Championship, which the country will jointly host with Türkiye.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) said it officially notified UEFA of the proposed venues on Wednesday as preparations move ahead for EURO 2032.
Rome is the only city represented by two stadiums on the Italian list, with the Olympic Stadium joined by a new venue planned for Pietralata. The other candidate cities are Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Salerno, Turin and Verona.
Giovanni Malago, whose remarks were included in the FIGC statement, said Italy was pleased with the submission and that it confirmed the country's intention to put forward cities and facilities capable of hosting a major international event.
"We are pleased, and we have reaffirmed our desire to offer cities and facilities worthy of a major international event," Malago said.
The submission comes after UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin previously raised concerns about the condition of Italy's stadium infrastructure in comments to the Italian media.
Ceferin had warned on several occasions that the required infrastructure would need to be ready on time for EURO 2032, adding that the tournament could otherwise not be staged in Italy.
