Haiti became the first team eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a 3-0 defeat to Brazil on Friday, while Morocco boosted its knockout hopes with a 1-0 victory over Scotland in Group C.

The results left Brazil and Morocco level on four points heading into the final round of group-stage matches, while Scotland remained on three points and Haiti was mathematically eliminated.

Brazil wins again without Neymar

Brazil took control midway through the first half at Philadelphia Stadium and never allowed Haiti back into the contest, collecting its first victory of the tournament and moving to four points in Group C.

After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Morocco in its opening match, Brazil bounced back with a commanding display led by Matheus Cunha. The forward opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and struck again three minutes later to put his side firmly in control.

Vinicius Junior added a third in first-half stoppage time, capping a dominant opening 45 minutes and leaving Haiti with a mountain to climb after the break.

Haiti struggled to create meaningful chances as Brazil controlled possession and dictated the tempo from the opening whistle.

Brazil was once again without Neymar, who remained sidelined as he continues his recovery from injury after also missing the team's opening match against Morocco.

Fast start lifts Morocco past Scotland

Earlier in the day, Morocco secured a 1-0 win over Scotland thanks to an early goal from Ismael Saibari.

Morocco found the breakthrough with its first attack of the match in the second minute when Brahim Diaz slipped a pass behind the defense for Saibari, who beat goalkeeper Angus Gunn from a tight angle.

Saibari's goal, scored after 71 seconds, was the fastest of the tournament so far. The Moroccan midfielder also became the second African player after Mohamed Salah to score in each of his first two World Cup matches.

Despite the late pressure, Scotland could not find an equalizer as Morocco held on for all three points.

Morocco joins Brazil on four points

Competing in its first World Cup since 1974, Haiti has lost its opening two matches and can no longer advance to the knockout stage. The Caribbean nation wraps up its Group C campaign against Morocco in Atlanta.

Brazil moved level on points with Morocco and currently holds the edge on goal difference in the battle for top spot in Group C. Italian veteran coach Carlo Ancelotti's side will conclude the group stage against Scotland in Miami on June 24.

If Brazil finishes atop the group, it will face the runner-up from Group F in the last 32, where the Netherlands, Japan and Sweden are among the teams currently in contention.
