Fenerbahce is reportedly preparing to return to its “Edin Dzeko – Dusan Tadic” formula by targeting world-class, experienced players to boost its squad. According to Spanish outlet Mundiario, the Turkish club has set its sights on Barcelona’s 38-year-old striker Robert Lewandowski and Real Madrid’s 33-year-old defender Antonio Rudiger.
The report, states that Fenerbahce aims to combine experience and leadership to compete at the highest level both in domestic and European competitions.
Rudiger, whose situation at Real Madrid is reportedly unsettled, has drawn the club’s interest, with an alleged €10 million salary offer on the table. Lewandowski, despite his age, remains a key leader at Barcelona and is expected to make an immediate impact.
Also in the report, the presence of Marco Asensio at Fenerbahce is also seen as a major advantage. The Spanish midfielder is considered a locker-room leader, enhancing the club’s ability to attract other high-profile players and build a competitive team.
Despite offers from American clubs, Fenerbahce is reportedly determined to persuade Lewandowski to join by offering him the chance to compete again at the top level in Europe. The club is said to be ready to invest heavily to make these signings a reality.
