Ligue 1 side Lille is moving to sign 25-year-old Türkiye international goalkeeper Berke Ozer from Super Lig club Eyupspor. The French outfit, known for previously bringing in Turkish stars such as Zeki Celik, Yusuf Yazici, and Burak Yilmaz, is once again preparing to dip into the Türkiye talent pool.
Ozer, under contract with Eyupspor until 2027, has emerged as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the league. Lille has reportedly begun initial approaches to secure his transfer.
Born on May 25, 2000, in Izmir, Ozer began his football journey as a centre-back in Bucaspor’s youth ranks. His switch to goalkeeping came after an impressive penalty save in a youth match — a turning point that would shape his career.
Rising through Altinordu and Fenerbahce
In 2013, Ozer joined Altinordu, earning national recognition with Türkiye’s youth teams. After signing his first professional contract in 2016 and breaking into Altinordu’s first team in 2017, he moved to Fenerbahce in 2018.
European experience
Between 2019 and 2021, he gained valuable experience on loan at Belgian side Westerlo, before a stint with Portuguese club Portimonense. His return to Türkiye with Eyupspor in 2023 marked the start of a new chapter.
Eyupspor's mainstay and international recognition
Following a short loan at Umraniyespor, Ozer became Eyupspor’s first-choice goalkeeper. In 2025, he extended his deal until 2027, reinforcing his commitment to the club. Having represented Türkiye from U-15 to senior level, Ozer is now seen as one of the future stars between the posts for the national team.
If the move to Lille materialises, he will follow in the footsteps of Celik, Yazici, and Yilmaz—all of whom played key roles in Lille’s modern success story.
