Manchester United has reportedly renewed its interest in Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as the English club looks to bring in an established goalscorer capable of delivering around 30 goal contributions across a season.

Galatasaray signed the Nigerian international from Napoli last season for a transfer fee of €75 million ($86.04 million), making him one of the most prominent names currently being linked with a move away from the Turkish Super Lig.

Reports from the British outlet TeamTalk were subsequently picked up by Spanish and Nigerian media, which examined the possibility of Osimhen moving to the Premier League. The reports suggested that the striker remains interested in playing in England, although Manchester United would face significant difficulties in completing a deal.

United reportedly builds up its pursuit

Spanish outlet Fichajes reported that Manchester United had stepped up their transfer activity as part of head coach Michael Carrick's "ambitious project."

The report said the club wanted to move back to the forefront of the transfer market and that its interest in Osimhen was no secret. However, it also stressed that persuading Galatasaray to part ways with their leading striker would not be straightforward.

TeamTalk similarly claimed that Osimhen wanted to continue competing at the highest level and regarded a Premier League move as one of his priorities.

The outlet reported that contact between Manchester United and the player had intensified, while attention now turns to whether the English club will follow up its interest with a concrete move.

Search for proven scorer brings Osimhen forward

CaughtOffside reported that Manchester United were looking for a world-class attacking player capable of producing around 30 goals and assists over the course of a season, with Osimhen emerging as one of the leading candidates.

The Nigerian forward was described as an established striker with the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League.

The report added that Benjamin Sesko remained an important part of Manchester United's plans, although the Slovenian forward was still adjusting to English football.

Manchester United were therefore said to be looking for another high-profile attacker who could share the scoring burden with Sesko, with Osimhen viewed as an ideal option for that role.
