Altay Bayindir is preparing for a possible return to Türkiye’s Super Lig, with Besiktas placing the Manchester United goalkeeper at the top of its transfer list as the Istanbul club looks to strengthen its squad with a domestic option in goal.
Bayindir, who moved from Fenerbahce to Manchester United, has emerged as a priority name for the black-and-white side at a time when the club is dealing with limits on foreign players in its squad.
Besiktas is expected to go for a Turkish goalkeeper as it tries to manage its foreign player quota, a squad registration rule that limits how many non-Turkish players clubs can use in the Super Lig.
The need for a new first-team goalkeeper has become more pressing after Ersin Destanoglu’s contract came to an end, leaving the club with a position to fill before the new season.
The move has not yet reached the negotiation stage. According to the report, Besiktas will wait for the club’s incoming head coach to assess the plan before pushing ahead.
Transfer talks are expected to begin only if the new coach gives approval for Bayindir’s arrival.
Bayindir is also included in Türkiye’s extended World Cup squad and is described among the players expected to travel with the national team, keeping him in focus both at club and international level.
