Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi is reportedly close to leaving the club after contract extension negotiations failed to produce an agreement, according to Turkish media reports.

The Turkish champions are reported to have offered the 33-year-old striker a new contract with a reduced salary compared to his current deal. However, Mauro Icardi, who is currently among the club’s highest earners, has not accepted the proposed terms, resulting in a stalemate in negotiations.

The situation has been further complicated by growing interest from several prominent clubs. According to reports, Icardi is attracting attention from Italy’s top sides, including AC Milan, Napoli, and Juventus, as well as Argentine giants River Plate.

Possible farewell at stadium

There is growing speculation that Galatasaray’s upcoming match against Antalyaspor could mark Icardi’s final appearance at RAMS Park. The forward, who has been a key figure in the club’s recent domestic success, is expected to receive an emotional farewell from supporters if the departure is confirmed.

Icardi has become closely associated with the song “Askin Olayim,” which has traditionally been played at the stadium following his goals and has since become a symbolic anthem among supporters.

Joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, the 33-year-old striker’s transfer was made permanent after one season. Since arriving at Galatasaray, Mauro Icardi has made 132 official appearances, scoring 77 goals and providing 24 assists in all competitions.

During his time with the club, the Argentine forward has won three league titles, one domestic cup, and one Super Cup.
