McLaren has extended British driver Lando Norris's contract, keeping him with the Formula 1 team until at least 2030.
Norris, 26, said in a statement: "McLaren is my home and I am very pleased to have signed a new contract that will keep me at the team until at least 2030.
When I started this journey 9 years ago, I knew the goals I wanted to achieve: to bring McLaren back to the top and win championships. We have reached that goal, but we want more."
Norris won his first championship last year, finishing 2 points ahead of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, and ended McLaren's 17-year wait for a drivers' title, the team's first since Lewis Hamilton's championship in 2008.
As part of the contract, McLaren said it would present Norris with the MCL39, the car in which he won the 2025 championship.
The new deal includes a multi-year option for Norris to extend his stay beyond 2030. Financial terms were not disclosed, though the Press Association news agency reported the contract could be worth up to $35 million a year. Norris's previous contract had been set to expire at the end of 2027.
Norris has raced in 163 Grands Prix for McLaren, more than any other driver in the team's history, and has recorded 13 wins, 18 pole positions and 48 podiums.
He joined the team as a test and development driver in 2017 before being promoted to a race seat for the 2019 season, when he finished 11th in the drivers' standings. He took his first podium in 2020 and his first Grand Prix victory in 2024.
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella and chief executive Zak Brown both said the extension provides continuity for the team heading into a new Formula 1 regulatory era.
McLaren won the constructors' championship in both 2024 and 2025, in addition to Norris's 2025 drivers' title, after finishing last in the constructors' standings as recently as 2017.
Norris's teammate, Oscar Piastri, signed a contract extension with McLaren last year that runs until at least 2028. The pair finished first and second in the 2025 drivers' championship.
McLaren announced the extension during its annual factory open day for family and friends in Woking, England, where Norris shared the news with staff in person.
