Jose Mourinho, Fenerbahce’s high-profile Portuguese coach, became the unexpected flashpoint of a fierce verbal clash between club president Ali Koc and former chairman Aziz Yildirim during the team’s High Council meeting.
Tensions escalated when Koc referenced rumors suggesting that he had been frequently partying with Mourinho. "They say I go out with Mourinho at night. The man doesn’t even drink—he’s the most boring guy ever. All he talks about is football," Koc said.
Yildirim, in response, made a veiled accusation:
"If I say what you told me about Mourinho, it would be shameful. Don’t make me talk."
Koc challenged him:
"Say whatever you want."
But Yildirim refused to elaborate, urging others in the room—former executives Sekip Mosturoglu and Hulusi Belgu—to speak instead.
The confrontation is the latest public dispute between Ali Koc, who has served as Fenerbahce president since 2018, and Aziz Yildirim, who led the club for two decades and remains an influential figure.
The argument touched on long-standing issues such as allegations of "fake signatures," VIP seating arrangements, and internal rumors—before Mourinho’s name unexpectedly entered the fray.
