Fenerbahce reportedly set target on its UEFA Champions League qualification round rival, Dutch Feyenoord’s captain Quinten Timber, 24, as a potential midfield signing.
The Istanbul club, managed by Jose Mourinho, is monitoring the Dutch international, who is in the final year of his contract and has yet to agree on a renewal with the Rotterdam side, TransferFeed reported.
According to the report, Fenerbahce will consider opening formal transfer talks if they eliminate Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
The Turkish side lost the first leg 2-1 in Rotterdam on Wednesday, prompting calls to strengthen the midfield after Brazilian star Fred and Sebastian Szymanski faced heavy fan criticism.
Timber started the match against Fenerbahce, contributed to his team’s opening goal, and was substituted in the 62nd minute.
He has made 102 appearances for Feyenoord over three seasons, contributing 18 goals and 12 assists, and earning a place in the Netherlands national team.
In a separate move, Fenerbahce have signed 23-year-old Croatian midfielder Niko Jankovic from HNK Rijeka. Turkish sports journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that the deal is worth €5.6 million ($6.5 million), with Rijeka set to receive a 10% share from any future sale.
Jankovic has signed a four-year contract but is expected to be loaned out immediately as part of a long-term investment strategy.
The club is also pursuing Brazilian attacking midfielder Evander from U.S. Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati. According to Foot Mercato, Fenerbahce intends to submit an official offer soon.
Evander scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in 29 matches during the 2025 season.
