The Norway national football team has gone viral after releasing a dramatic Viking-inspired photoshoot featuring its players dressed in traditional Norse warrior-style outfits, including shields, swords and historically inspired costumes.
The images, shared through official team channels, show several of Norway’s biggest stars, including Erling Haaland and other national team players, posing in Viking settings.
Norway’s national football team has returned to the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1998, ending a 28-year absence from the tournament after a dominant qualifying campaign.
The Scandinavian side secured their place at the 2026 World Cup with a perfect record in qualifying, squad led by striker Erling Haaland and captain Martin Odegaard.
Norway won all of their qualifying matches, finishing top of their group as one of Europe’s most in-form teams heading into the tournament.
The qualification marks only the fourth World Cup appearance in Norway’s history, with their best previous performance coming in 1998, when they reached the last 16 before a narrow defeat to Italy.
At the 2026 World Cup, Norway have been drawn in Group I alongside France, Senegal and Iraq.
