Galatasaray is working to bring Victor Osimhen back in time for their crucial derby against Fenerbahce, with the club developing a custom carbon fiber arm brace to protect the striker’s injury.
Galatasaray is set to host Fenerbahce in a high-stakes Super Lig clash at Rams Park on April 26, with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m. local time.
As the title race tightens, the match is seen as pivotal for both sides, prompting an intensive effort within the club to get Osimhen match-ready.
The Nigerian forward has been sidelined after suffering a broken arm during a match against Liverpool, and he has yet to return to action following surgery.
With limited time left before the derby, the club’s medical team has stepped up efforts to accelerate his recovery process.
In response to the injury, Galatasaray has turned to an unconventional yet targeted solution.
According to a report in Türkiye daily, the club is producing a custom protective brace made from carbon fiber, a material known for combining high strength with very low weight.
The brace is described as being “five times stronger than steel yet as light as a feather,” allowing Osimhen to play without placing additional strain on his arm.
The design is intended to shield the injured area from impact during the match while ensuring the player remains comfortable on the pitch.
The protective gear is expected to absorb contact during play, reducing the risk of further damage and enabling Osimhen to compete without pain.
Club officials are said to be focusing on ensuring the player can take part in the derby without his injury affecting performance.
