Italy forward Giacomo Raspadori has pulled out of the national team squad because of an injury and will miss the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against France and Türkiye, the Italian Football Federation announced.
Raspadori picked up the injury during Italy's 4-1 away win over Türkiye in UEFA Nations League A, Group 1, according to reports in the Italian sports media, with the problem forcing him to come off at halftime.
Italy returned to its national training center in Coverciano following the victory over Türkiye and began preparations for the next match against France.
The federation said Raspadori did not take part in training and was instead given time to rest. Following medical checks, it was confirmed that he would not be available for Italy's matches against France on Oct. 2 and Türkiye on Oct. 5, leading him to leave the national team camp.
Italian sports media reported that the injury resulted from a blow Raspadori suffered during the Türkiye match.
Raspadori's withdrawal adds to Italy's injury concerns after Nicolo Zaniolo also left the national team camp because of an injury before the match against Türkiye.
