Galatasaray have moved to bring back former right-back Sacha Boey, reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign the French defender on loan with a non-mandatory purchase option for the remainder of the 2025–2026 season.
According to the official statement released by the Istanbul-based club, the agreement was struck with both Boey and Bayern Munich for a temporary transfer that includes a purchase option entirely at Galatasaray’s discretion.
The club explained that the option can only be activated through a written request, and that no obligation would arise if such a request is not made, underlining that the decision rests solely with Galatasaray.
As part of the arrangement, Galatasaray will pay Bayern Munich a net loan fee of €500,000 ($590,000). Boey, meanwhile, will receive a guaranteed net salary of €1.75 million for the 2025–2026 season.
Boey originally joined Galatasaray at the start of the 2021–2022 season after being signed for a transfer fee of 1.15 million.
His performances in Istanbul later led to a high-profile move in January 2024, when Bayern Munich acquired the defender for €30 million plus potential bonuses of up to €5 million, a total package that could reach €35 million.
That transfer saw Boey set a national benchmark, as he became the most expensive footballer ever sold from Türkiye to a foreign club, a distinction that drew international attention to both the player and Galatasaray’s player development strategy.
