Thousands of Trabzonspor supporters packed Papara Park for Mohamed Salah's signing ceremony, welcoming the Egyptian star with chants, light displays and flares as he walked around the stadium and greeted the crowd.
Addressing the supporters, Salah made clear that trophies were at the heart of his move, saying, "I'm here to win. I want to win something with this club, because you guys show me so much love and I really really appreciate that."
The Egyptian forward said he had never expected such a welcome and thanked Trabzonspor President Ertugrul Dogan for making the transfer happen, adding that he could not wait to meet the supporters again on the pitch.
Shortly after the ceremony, Trabzonspor shared images showing Salah training with the rest of the squad, marking another step in his integration into the team following one of the club's most high-profile transfers.
Trabzonspor previously announced that Salah will be guaranteed €17 million per season, including a €10 million annual salary and a €7 million signing payment, alongside conditional bonuses and a separate image-rights arrangement.
Dogan said Trabzonspor could not have persuaded a player of Salah's standing through money alone, revealing that the forward had shown club officials another contract offering four times as much as Trabzonspor's proposal.
According to Dogan, Salah looked into the city, spoke with contacts in Europe about Trabzonspor's championship celebrations and received positive feedback from former Trabzonspor player Trezeguet before deciding to join the club.
Dogan said Salah was stunned by the reception he received after arriving in Türkiye and later thanked club officials after reaching Trabzon, telling them, "I'm glad you brought me here."
Trabzonspor's Ernest Muci voluntarily gave his shirt number to Salah, a gesture Dogan said moved him and others at the club while demonstrating the positive atmosphere building up inside the squad.
Dogan said season-ticket turnover had climbed to around ₺450 million within roughly a day, arguing that supporters were responding directly to the club's ambition as Trabzonspor continued working on further transfers.
