Midfielder Salih Ozcan has been withdrawn from the Türkiye national team squad ahead of upcoming friendly matches against the United States and Mexico due to a knee injury, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced Friday.
The decision comes after Ozcan sustained the injury during a training session in the U.S. on Thursday.
“Following medical examinations and evaluations, it has been determined that Salih Ozcan will not fully recover in time for the friendlies against the United States and Mexico,” the TFF said in a statement. “As a result, he has been removed from the squad.”
Türkiye will face the United States in Hartford on Saturday.
