Türkiye’s women eased past Bulgaria 3-0 at the World Women’s Volleyball Championship, with head coach Daniele Santarelli praising his team’s composure from first serve to last while setting sights on topping the group against Canada.

Composed start and third set to remember

Speaking after the match, Santarelli said he stressed the importance of the Bulgaria fixture to his players and felt they handled it from the outset. “I think we showed a good attitude from the start,” he noted, adding that what unfolded in the third set will “stay in my mind for a long time.”

He also told the locker room, “we are the team of records,” underlining how his side can produce “incredible things” at key moments.

Leadership goal sharpens focus on Canada

Looking ahead to the final group match, Santarelli said Canada remained a strong side despite some absences. He pointed out that Giovanni Guidetti and his staff “work hard” and that Canada “turned a match incredibly” earlier in the day.

He expects them to give everything against Türkiye, calling it “a target match for both teams,” and urged full focus because the aim is to finish first in the group.

Patience against resilient defense

Libero Gizem Orge—libero: a back-row defensive specialist who can replace teammates without using a standard substitution—congratulated Bulgaria for their resistance, saying they were strong in defense. She emphasized that Türkiye stayed patient and kept playing their game even during long rallies.

Orge added that the team collectively dipped in the third set but the players coming off the bench “did a great job,” calling it solid teamwork. With a “good mood” in the camp, she said the Canada clash is a leadership match and Türkiye wants to remain unbeaten and finish on top.
