Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has come under criticism in Spain after taking Arda Guler off during his team's 1-0 defeat to Real Betis, which marked Madrid's first loss of the season.
The Türkiye international started the La Liga match but was substituted in the 64th minute despite putting in a positive performance.
Mourinho's decision to take Guler off quickly drew attention in Spain, particularly as the Turkish midfielder had started the game and performed well before being withdrawn.
Spanish football commentator Inaki Angulo argued that Guler had become an easier player for Mourinho to take off compared with some of Real Madrid's biggest names.
"Jose Mourinho sees Arda Guler as an easy target because he does not dare to put Mbappe, Vinicius and Bellingham on the bench," Angulo said.
The criticism came after Real Madrid fell 1-0 away to Real Betis in the fourth week of the La Liga season.
